This week found Derby away to Coventry Sikh Union.

In short we were expecting a tough match and the first 20 minutes was a nightmare. Two goals awarded that were basically the umpires desire to ensure the home team would get the win.

The decisions continued to be questionable and Derby were soon 5-0 down and had no hope of making a mark on the scorecard.

Nevertheless, a succession of hard worked short corners by Derby allowed us to enter halftime with a 5-2 score line.

We knew we would not be getting much in the second half and should continue to push our own game. The words damage limitation comes to mind.

Much to our surprise the umpires relaxed and the calls were improving. We found ourselves 5-4 down with two minutes left to play and with this momentum knew we could salvage a draw. This was the point at which the umpires remembered that the home team should win and finished the match within 30 seconds. No surprise that the calls were biased from previous fixtures here but the team can unanimously agree that the curry was the highlight of the visit.

No doubt the team will be disappointed for a lack of individual comments this week but I cant really remember any spectacular moves. The only on pitch highlight was El Captain Bunker forgetting to duck when a pensioner aged defender wishes to practice headbutting. I imagine matt is now sporting two black eyes to take attention off the large swelling to his nose.

Next week is home against Leicester Uni and providing we don’t give away early goals we have a fighting chance to get some points and push out of relegation.

Man of the Match, Alex this week for all the hard running and not being phased by the pushing tactics of our opponents.

Dick of the Day, Mike for letting the first goal under his foot thinking the ball was not touched by a host player. Truth be told even I thought it was a joke the umpire awarded it.
