Following a more sterner team talk, the girls left the changing rooms under no doubts as to what was required today in regards to performance and they set about the task with some “Fire in their bellies”

Inside 6 minutes a high press saw us drive inside the Melton ‘D’ and following a couple of “robust” tackles the ball broke to Rachael who hammered home the ball at waist high from 10 mtrs……….. only to see that the home umpire had blown for one of the previous fouls and awarded us the PC instead. Very unfortunate for Rachael.

It didn’t take long though for Rachael to get on the score sheet as with another great bullet strike she got her goal and before ½ time Anna Neilson added her name to the scorers meaning we went in at half time 2-0 up, that despite a couple of scary moments at the back but nothing that we couldn’t cope with.

A shuffle round of players at the break did see us have a better 2nd half though.

Further goals from Rachael, Kath and another 2 for Anna (hat-trick) were nothing less than what was deserved for our dominance in large periods of the game.

A minor downside was the 2 goals we conceded. But the 2nd goal was a deflection that Lisa couldn’t even see.

So game 3 of pre-season ended with a much better performance and another win. I know you win no points in pre-season but you can develop some good habits….like WINNING and that’s 3 on the bounce.

Despite the tight new shoes Rachael was excellent today and deserved her “WIG OF WONDERMENT” award, as did the Pants of shame awarded to Helena for her attempt to get changed in the Mens changing room (there were 4 rugby teams on site, don't know if that had anything to do with it LOL) but mention also goes to the hard work put in by many other players, Kelly, Amanda, Marie, Becky, Kath, Anna, Laura, ok ok ok all of them. Good game ladies.


We are building nicely, keep it going.

I think the award for soppiest git should go to Kelly for stopping mid play to pick up one of the Melton players after she fell over! Good old Kelly! Just make sure you have passed the ball first next time soft touch! Lol
