Mens 2nds v Newark

Oh Dear!
2 convincing wins in the friendlies clearly not the preparation for a solid and experienced Newark side who were deserved 9 - 2 winners. Not helped by Ted stuck in London and Tom McCausland going lame in the warm up (I thought it was only old farts like the skipper who were supposed to tweak hamstrings?)
So effectively only 10 on the field - 4 U18's and at least 1 well over 40.
Bad things - 1. too nice boys, you get what you earn, let's be more agressive in the tackle 2. once we have got the ball don't give it straight back to the opposition!
Good Things - we're only going to get better, this year is all about gaining experience and when we had the ball and passed it we looked really good - our second goal was the pick of the 11 on the day it had class stamped all over it.
onwards and upwards - Grantham beckon on Saturday
