Mens 1's V Derby Uni

The 1’s season started like nearly every game from last season. A slow start which saw us fall behind before fighting back. A slight change being, we took the lead before we switched off and conceded 2 goals from quick succession, both from penalty corners. Our first goal, scored by Nick, was an opportunist striker’s finish, lifted over the keeper after he’d made a good save. We were not helped by the early injury to Will Lanoe which saw Will Harrison moved up to right midfield and Rambo playing at right back. At half time the score was 2-1 to the uni.
In the second half we controlled the game from start to finish and on reflection were unlucky not to win. The equaliser came from another superb finish from Nick, this time reverse swept into the far corner. Nick was unlucky not to complete his hat trick when his shot from a tight angle hit the side netting. Ben was also unfortunate not to score when his shot was well saved with dive to left by the keeper.
