Mens 1's V Leicester Uni

A must win game, which unfortunately we lost 4-1. In truth this was exactly what we deserved, in a word we were appalling. We slipped back into the old way of starting sluggishly, despite having a proper warm up. Going 1-0 down usually wakes up and we start to play our own game. However, this was not the case today and we did not raise our game and we just let them have wave after wave of attack. We were fortunate enough to grab an equaliser through a short corner. This was a lucky goal but at that stage we would have taken anything to get ourselves back into the game.

In the 2nd half we started off strongly and we all believed that we could put the dire first half behind us and go on to win the game. Unfortunately due to a mad 5 minutes we found ourselves 3-1 down and once again we were chasing the game. We were lacking the creative instinct that has led us so well in the past weeks. Then the extra stab into the already wounded team, another goal to make it 4-1. Was it a goal wasn't it a goal, it was debatable but the way we played it was all we deserved after a performance that was well below our high standards.
