Mens 1s V Leicester Uni

A game that wold basically decide whether we were up to the challenge of pushing for promotion or settling for mid table mediocrity this season. Against a side that was yet to drop a point, and with a strong attacking and defensive record. This looked to be tall order, however, we were up to the task and ran out 3-1 winners.

Although we were 3-0 up at half time, it was not a fair reflection of the game. We were more clinical in front of goal, whereas Leicester came up against our stubborn defence and an inform goal keeper. Our first goal came from a Dave trademark straight strike from a short, quickly followed by Martin's second goal in as many games. This came after their keeper made 2 excellent saves but was unable to make the third. The 3rd goal was slightly fortunate, a shot from Nick was made better than what it was by deflecting of Uni defenders foot, turning a shot heading for a 16 into a goal for us.

The 2nd half saw the Uni pile on more pressure, with us hoping to strike on the break. With around 10 minutes to go the Uni got the goal they deserved to make it 3-1. This goal was unfortunate on Chris who deserved a clean sheet for the way he played.
