Mens 1s v 2s- inter club friendly

This game was used to warm both teams up for the start of the 2nd part of the season. The game was different as it was played in 3 thirds so that captain and coach would have time to try out different systems.

For us, period 1 was used to play the possesion game and to hold onto the ball for long periods of time. This is something that we have struggled with in the first half of the season so this was a useful exercise for us. In this third we managed to retain the ball well and for long periods of time. As well as that, we created some openigs that we were not able to take.

Period 2 was time for us to up it a gear and be more clinical in front of goal. Although not upping tempo that much, we seemed to move swiflty through the gears and create the openings we needed to score the goals needed to win the game. Our goal came from Ian which was neat finish into far corner

Period 3 saw us score 3 more goals and keep playing at the tempo from the earlier periods. 2 more goals for Ian, both as well taken as his first goal. Our 4th goal came a flick, after Lee went clean through the back of Will. He is adamant he played the ball, but from my angle it looked like he'd clean took Will out. Will scored the resultant flick.

Thanks for the 2s for an enjoyable game, and it was a quite a challenge and good preparation for the 2nd part of the season
