Mens 2nds v Ramgarhia
I don't know - captain misses one match and what happens .... Tom Mac takes over and they get a comprehensive 6 -0 win over Ramgarhia.
Well done team and thanks to Tom for stepping into the breach.
No other details I'm afraid but maybe Lee will post a follow up...

Re: Mens 2nds v Ramgarhia
Derby Asterdale 6 Ramgarhia 0
With Tom McCausland ably filling in for absent Captain Will Howarth and surprisingly keeping himself in defence, after spending much of last week appearing at right wing from his left back berth!, Derby took on local rivals Ramgarhia.
Despite a promising start and several clear opportunities denied by some good saves from the Ramgharia keeper, we struggled for much of the 1st half with Ramgarhia’s tight man marking approach, and were guilty of making things difficult for ourselves by playing far too narrow.
This was quickly rectified during the half time team talk, and Derby quickly took a 2 goal lead, both opportunities created by attacking down the flanks. Ramgarhia continued to make things difficult for us, but we maintained our shape and width, continuing to create numerous chances, eventually winning 6-0.
The Derby goals came from Jamie 2, Rambo 1, Kyle 2, from a combined distance of less than a foot (right place, right time – same again next week please) and Tom, applying captains privileges and the international rules of shotgun to claim a penalty flick to cruelly deny Kyle the opportunity to complete a hatrick (who must learn to shout up at times like these), and Jamroz, who he “wrestled” off the ball, the chance of scoring his first goal of the new year.
Next week we face stiffer opposition and promotion rivals Ashby. Things are very tight at the top so we cannot afford to slip up.
