Mens 1sts v Rolls Royce

After a good few weeks of silence, in ways of match reports from the first team, they are now back to cover the last game.

With the season bascially over in ways of promotion, this was a game for pride and to at least play at the level we are capable of. However, as per usual we underperformed as unit. This has been a problem throughout the 2nd half of the season. Another recurring theme of the 2nd part of the season was the no show of Nick leaving us with 12 players instead of 13. And, with Dave leaving the game partway through the first half due to injury left us with the bare 11.

Rolls Royce took the lead midway through a short corner, a mistake on my behalf there! During the second half we upped the tempo and started creating chances. Then, the chance came through 2 yellow cards for Royces players. Luck again seemed to be on our side when we were given a flick that Ian put away to make it 1-1. Unfortunately luck turned against us when Ian struck the post. With a 1-1 draw, there was a disappointing end to a disappointing season.

Final league position this season was 5th, with no wins in the last 7 games.
