Mens 2nds v Rolls Royce

The 2nds concluded the first half of the league season with a hard earned (some would say we made it a bit too hard) win against Rolls Royce. This was a game we were pretty much always in control of but we didn't pass the ball as well as we should, and a number of chances also went begging. After taking the lead in the first half we conceded a soft equaliser after failing to clear the ball effectively - however we then showed our strength by hitting back almost immediately to regain the lead ( note from captain: no coincidence we scored after making 4 early passes!)
So we finish the first half having won 8, drawn 1 and lost 1 of our fixtures, which (assuming neither Ashby (possible) or Grantham (unlikely) did us a favour by taking points off the top 2) leaves us in 3rd place.
A fantastic team effort and next week we'll see how far we've progressed since the start of the season as we begin the return fixtures by welcoming the only team to have beaten us, league leaders Newark - bring it on!
