A beautiful, sunny, winter's day saw the sequal of the club derby. After a triumphant victory last week the Second XI were eager to build on and put up an honourable fight which, I'm pleased to say, they did.

The first half took on a very defensive tone with glimmers of attacking opportunities created by Gemma and Eleanor. The 3-0 scoreline at this point was an achievement as the first team put together some impressive attacking manouvers but the second team shield held fast preventing any further damage.

After a quick change around the second half saw some excellent goal keeping by the gladiatorial Gill ,who bravely kept the scoreline to just two goals, and some excellent attacking routines with goal chances from short corners.

Some valiant individual contributions included Collette and her marking prowess, Gemma's determined attacking runs up the wing and Hillary's explosive strikes both in defense and attack.

A well fought match by both teams demonstrating we are truly a club to be reckoned with! Another brilliant win for Derby Asterdale!!!
