Mens 1s V Grantham

We never thought the lows of our Leicester Uni performance could be reached. Not only did we match the perfomance we were even worse. Lets not take anything against Grantham who played an awesome game and pushed us the whole way.

After starting slowly, as per usual this season, this time however our game did not pick up over time. We seemed stuck in 1st gear unable to shift higher and play our usual game. Fortune did strike when we took the lead midway through the first half when Ian gave us the lead. It came from a straight strike from a short corner, the keeper dived low got a glove to it but couldn't keep it out.

In the 2nd half we once again started slowly and stayed slow. We did manage to score another goal through Nick which gave us the two goal cushion. But, with 5 minutes to go Grantham scored, what turned out to be a consolation goal, but at the time put us under considerable pressure to hold onto our lead.

Final Score: Derby Asterdale 2 Grantham 1
