Ladies' Second Team Report 01/03/08
Last week - Rolls Royce 4 - 5 Derby
This week - Wolverick 1 - 2 Derby
It has taken me a week to find the words to explain how well the second team is doing at the moment and today's match sees us going from strength to strength.
Star of the show last week, Sarah, slotted two through their goal keeper's apertures (is this word too much?) and played out of her socks regardless of the fact that she was nursing a two- bottles -of -wine hangover!
Thanks to both Anna and Kath who helped out in raising our game and, of course, scoring two key goals taking us to 2-2 at half time.
Oh, and there was that other goal struck, no, impelled by Donna who pulverised the keeper and decimated the backboard. She didn't half give it some welly!!
This week saw the Ladie's seconds playing some lovely hockey (even Will would have been impressed with our passing) and a rattled Wolverick lost their lead to a lovely goal slammed in by Helena.
Derby kept their composure and form, even started trying out fancy reverse stick tricks - Helena - which finally paid off as she inaugurated our victory!
Some stirling performances in defense by Hilary and Lynn, in attack, Kay and Gemma and, under the aegis of Gill in goal, the team were invincible today!!
P.S Blame Will for the use of complicated words - he started it with, 'marauding!'
