1st Team win

The firsts started their season with a convincing 4-0 away win against Nottingham.

Both teams were playing their first game of the season, but whilst Nottm looked a little ring rusty Asterdale were straight into their stride, playing some impressive hockey at a high tempo.

With the defence as frugal as ever the platform was set for the midfield and attack to link impressively to create numerous opportunities. Goals from Dave Ellis, Andy Lee, Jake Tyler and captain Andy Knight sealed the victory, that was also notable for the performances of several young players promoted from the 2nds. Will Harrison, Martin Foster and Greg Lloyd (playing out of position) all performed well and showed that there will be good competition for places this year.
